Precision technology and tradition
Our vineyards
Terre d’Aquesia incorporates 10 hectares of vineyards which are divided into parcels according to the variety and clone. The vineyards lie at an altitude of about 300-350 metres, on gentle slopes facing south-south-west. The vines are cordon-trained and spur-pruned. The average density is about 5200 plants per hectare.
We grow Sangiovese (4 clones), Cabernet Sauvignon, Ciliegiolo, Grechetto, Chardonnay e Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Our philosophy of production centres on our work in the vineyard. Only from grapes of high quality it is possible to get wines of high quality.
Viticulture
In the vineyard, we employ a non-invasive precision viticulture aimed at getting the best possible grapes.
Fertilization is intended to optimize the nutrients. We employ green manure to foster the development of nitrogen compounds. For pruning, we use the Simonit & Sirch method, which extends the life of the plants.
Low yields and selection
Our production philosophy revolves around work in the vineyard. Only from quality grapes is it possible to obtain quality wines.
On average, we produce 8 tons of grape per hectare. For the most valuable varieties and clones, this figure can be as low as 6 tons. The quality and characteristics of our wines largely depend on our work in the vineyard. The wines of Terre d’Aquesia are a true expression of the terroir.
